It was in May 2003 that Steve Smith & Jon Drape decided to consolidate their various projects with a ‘youth marketing agency’ focused on creating exciting live experiences around, music, sport and fully in tune with contemporary culture.

What started off as a little idea in the backstreets of Manchester has now grown-up into a unique agency specialising in connecting brands with sport and music fans with 40 staff, offices in London and Rio and a client roster which includes some of the world’s biggest brands.

Steve Smith, MD said “What a journey! We’ve worked on some incredible projects and global media moments along the way including the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay with Samsung, the Premier League Trophy lift with Manchester City and the VIP activations around James Bond ‘Skyfall’ for Heineken with Professor Green. We are driven by the belief that brands can always do more to get the most out of their partnerships… ”

To mark the fact that WE ARE TEN and celebrate the opening of our Brazil office, Ear to the Ground is preparing to celebrate with a party full of Brazilian beats and Mancunian attitude as well as launching a timeline telling our story and a new agency manifesto.

It has taken a lot of hard work to get here. There have been a few entrepreneurial detours, a burnt down office and lot of special moments along the way but none of this would have been possible without the help and support of our friends, clients and numerous suppliers.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us on this journey…
