The Parklife Weekender 2013


Ear to the Ground was involved in another hugely successful Parklife Weekender with the festival moving onto a new level of success. Over 100,000 tickets were sold over the weekend with an eclectic mix of headline acts including Plan B, Rita Ora and Example as well as cutting edge DJs and artists from the world of dance and electronic music.

Our sister agency takes responsibility for the production management of the entire festival while we preside over brand partnerships across the site. We also hosted a hospitality event for 150 clients and friends of the agency. We sunk a few ice cold beers at the Football Museum and then jumped on a couple of Route-masters that took us to the beautifully sunny Heaton Park in North Manchester.    

Once at the festival, we mixed the chilled out vibes of the hospitality area with a few visits to some of the incredible acts performing at the weekend. There are too many highlights to name but the two performances which have got the Ear to the Ground team talking about were Disclosure’s energetic Saturday night set which saw crowds as much as 50 deep outside the arena; and American Hip Hop group, Jurassic 5, who’s Sunday afternoon performance got the crowd jumping with their old school 90s sounds.

The Parklife Weekender is now firmly established as one of the UK’s major annual music events and its rapid rise a big success story in the live music industry. Following this year’s sell out event it looks to have a very bright future.
