The Olympics is over but the excitement of the brand activation around Samsung’s Olympic Torch relay is reverberating online. A series of trade media titles have awarded the brand gold for social media reach beating other presenting partners including Macdonald’s and Cadburys by up to 70%.

Our Samsung Olympic torch activations across 66 dates connected with fans and drove genuine brand engagement that directly tapped into to the excitement of London 2012.  It was announced this week that Samsung had a 111% uplift in Online visits during the Olympics with 5% of all social chat about the Torch Relay directly mentioning the brand.  

The ‘Big Cheer’ campaign had over 1Million fans directly interacting with the product, in memorable shared moments. Our innovative photographic technology allowed us to capture on average 50,000 fans per date, encouraging them to tag themselves online, and share their experience using the #samsungbigcheer hash tag. This Olympics has helped re-define Samsung when it comes to hearts minds and clicks.
