We are a little bit tired, but a whole lot of excited; having just got back from our annual visit to ISPO, Munich.
ISPO Munich is the leading Outdoor, Ski and Action Sports Exhibition in Europe. It houses over 2,400 exhibitors and has almost 100,000 visitors streaming the Bavaria venue for a short week of product innovations, the latest trends, lectures on the industry and back to back meetings…
The show is huge and continues to grow year on year with all of the industry’s heaviest hitters lining up next to each other with big, bold structures all showcasing their latest products, trends and innovations for the year ahead. Some of the new products on display were amazing, including a camping stove the size of your little finger by Fire Maple, ideal for cooking on any soggy festival campsite.
With 18 halls of some of the world’s biggest brands to get around and over 12 workshops and lectures every day, it was a packed three days. However we did manage a little time to get out and see the best Munich had to offer, including invites to the secret offsite launch of a new collection with one of our newest clients, which was brilliant, but top secret nonetheless! We also, somehow, managed a trip to the infamous Hofbräuhaus München for a few litres of beer, suckling pigs, apple strudel and some well spent hours chewing the fat on what we saw at the show.
The scale of the show is testament to the strength of the industry. Competition is strong but there continues to be a steady flow of new and exciting brands coming into the market with great product differentiation and outstanding quality. Having all of these brands line up next to one another highlights above all else the standard that is required to get cut through; not just at trade exhibitions but to end consumers, whether that’s online, in-store or in live events...
But more on that in our post event report on what we saw out at ISPO due to be available towards the end of February.
For now, Prost!
